Compass Ministries is located along Alabama’s beautiful Gulf Coast which encompasses a rich ecological, historical and archaeological importance to our mission. Our close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, inter-coastal waterway, rivers, bays and tributaries provides a magnificent seascape for Compass Ministries. Our coastal environment includes the Wolf Bay Watershed, Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Mobile Bay, Mobile Tensaw Delta, and much more.
Our waterways provide us an abundance of wildlife and plant life, food resources, a place to work, and a place for recreational activities, which are all truly a gift from God. In order to preserve our environment we must educate ourselves and others to nurture and care for what God has given us. The heritage of our coastal culture is steeped in seafaring tradition and a dependence on the environment. Participants will become aware of how they can make a positive difference in their natural surroundings through this Christ centered ministry.
