Vision for Property Development
Compass Ministries will be a place where people of all ages and stations in life will have access to the water in a safe, Christian environment. Compass offers boating, swimming, fishing and aqua fun of all types.
The long-range plans are for a Christian, maritime village that will include a chapel, classrooms and two boathouses with male and female facilities. In this village, participates will learn to sail, build and restore boats and take an active role in protecting our local estuary system
The focus on water activities will incorporate God’s word and principles into everyday life, and the facility will serve as a center for coastal mission work.
Compass Ministries could also be used as a church camp or retreat center. When not involved in a particular program, people will be able to enjoy the grounds and take advantage of the facilities whenever it is convenient for them.
Current Needs
In the meantime, we are building our fleet of wooden rowing and sailing skiffs while maintaining our fleet of sailboats and our flagship vessel, the 65 foot schooner, Cyrus E. King.
